Job Description

A test development and delivery provider in Washington is seeking Healthcare Interpreters to support the Nurse Aide testing and evaluation process in Washington. This role provides accurate, professional, and impartial interpretation services for Nurse Aide candidates with limited English proficiency, ensuring fair, standardized, and compliant exam administration. Interpreters work closely with Senior Nurse Aide Evaluators, Nurse Aide Evaluators, Proctors, and test site staff to facilitate clear communication in accordance with Prometric and state requirements.

Must‐Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proof of fluency in required language
  • Additional education or certification in interpretation or healthcare terminology preferred
  • Prior professional interpreter experience, ideally in healthcare, testing, or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with Nurse Aide, healthcare, or long‐term care terminology
  • Fluency in English and at least one required additional language

Skills Needed

  • Understanding of proper interpretation flow between evaluator and candidate, maintaining appropriate communication boundaries
  • Ability to remain neutral, accurate, and composed in high‐stakes testing environments
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to standardized procedures
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and age groups
  • Professional judgment, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel 30+ miles one way from assigned zip code
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per event)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when assisting with exam materials or equipment, if required

Day‐to‐Day Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, unbiased, and confidential oral interpretation during Nurse Aide exams
  • Interpret standardized exam instructions and administrative communications without alteration
  • Support evaluators by facilitating communication and assisting with candidate check‐in and exam flow
  • Adhere to all company policies, confidentiality standards, and compliance requirements
  • Report testing irregularities or candidate concerns promptly
  • Participate in audits and quality assurance activities as needed
  • Demonstrate professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and flexibility, including evenings and weekends as required
