Accountant - Confidential Organization

Location: On-site, River North, Chicago, IL (public transit accessible, company paid parking provided)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 per year, plus annual discretionary bonus
Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard business hours (flexible start/end times available)

About the Opportunity

A well-established, rapidly growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This is a high-impact, on-site role with opportunities for professional growth and advancement. The ideal candidate will support daily accounting operations, financial analysis, and reporting, and will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries; adjust account balances monthly
  • Compile and analyze account information for reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  • Support operational budgeting and long-term financial projections
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close, and tax preparation
  • Provide financial reports for internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Controller and finance leadership on special projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience (healthcare or related industry preferred)
  • Quickbooks experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual base salary: $65,000 - $75,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance
