SUMMARY:
The Training Specialist is responsible for improving employee productivity and organizational effectiveness through the development, delivery, and presentation of training and development programs at the Credit Union.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Develops training plans, objectives and training materials for new employees that include both an overall introduction to the credit union as well as specific training for on-the-job requirements of the position.
- Oversees and conducts new employee onboarding orientation and develops assessments to measure progress and evaluate the effectiveness of training; conducts a progress review with employee and hiring manager, based upon performance on assessment and observations in training, recommends employee for advancement in training or creates a remediation plan.
- Collaborates with departments to identify and assess training and developmental needs that will drive company initiatives on assigned projects.
- Conducts research on new training topics and suggests new programs based on observation and feedback.
- Develops training materials and maintains up to date documentation.
- Coordinates and facilitates training sessions; develops multi-modal curriculum and instructional strategies (face-to-face, virtual, job shadow, and stand-alone).
- Develops resources on SharePoint and ensure relevant and up-to-date content is available to employees.
- Creates content for role specific training. Assigns and tracks completion in BVS on select courses.
- Keeps abreast of new developments, methods, and techniques in the training field.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge Of:
- Adult Learning Theory
- Instructional Design
- Credit Union products and services and ability to discuss them in detail.
- How the credit union operates and its policies regarding savings, lending, and deposit account usage.
- Knowledge of operational policies and procedures to train new employes.
- Working knowledge of the core system (Symitar) and ability to train on navigation and completing various functions including but not limited to, transactions, file maintenance, repgens, etc.
Ability To:
- Work cooperatively with others in a team environment and communicate effectively in writing and orally, one-on-one and in group settings.
- React positively to developments and help lead the way forward to include new developments in training
- Utilize skills to effectively deliver training programs and evaluate effectiveness.
- Operate a PC using the following software applications: Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the credit union’s core processing system
- Be flexible and handle multiple projects.
- Lead by example and foster relationships.
- Set goals and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with training technology and delivery systems.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications or Organizational Development, Instructional Design or equivalent
- Prefer a minimum of three years related training experience, preferably in a financial institution.
License or Certification:
- Ability to become a certified trainer for applicable sales and service programs
