The San Francisco Rejuvenation Center, a premier outpatient surgery center specializing in plastic surgery, is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technician (CST) / Materials Coordinator (MC) to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position is integral to ensuring seamless surgical care and efficient materials management, reflecting our commitment to providing exceptional patient experiences and outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities Certified Surgical Technician Duties:
- Assist the surgical team during plastic surgery procedures under the direct supervision of the surgeon and Registered Nurse.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and operating rooms, adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Demonstrate expertise in basic and advanced surgical setups specific to plastic surgery.
- Maintain sterile fields throughout procedures and ensure patient safety.
- Scrub, gown, and glove surgical team members while maintaining sterile techniques.
- Arrange instruments and supplies according to the specific needs of plastic surgery procedures.
Materials Coordinator Duties:
- Oversee inventory processes, including ordering, receiving, verifying, and distributing supplies and materials.
- Maintain stock levels based on surgical schedules and established par levels.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues with damaged, missing, or incorrect merchandise.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, invoices, and inventory counts.
- Input and update physician preference cards to reflect current procedural needs.
- Ensure timely preventive maintenance of surgical equipment with management support.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience in a surgical suite, preferably in plastic surgery or a related specialty.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology/Sterile Processing program.
- National Certification as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
