Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a High School Special Education Teacher specializing in English instruction. This contract position is located in Naval Anacost Annex, DC, and supports a full school year (CSY) assignment. The role focuses on delivering high-quality special education services to high school students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide English instruction tailored to students with special education needs.
- Implement full inclusion teaching strategies to support students in general education classrooms.
- Deliver both push-in and pull-out services based on individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure cohesive student support.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of interventions and outcomes.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching certification.
- Experience teaching English at the high school level.
- Knowledge of special education laws, individualized education plans, and inclusive teaching practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to implement both push-in and pull-out instructional models effectively.
