An Infusion Center Neurology Nurse Practitioner needs to be hired by Neurology Services, Inc., Alexandria, VA. The infusion center neurology nurse practitioner will manage the infusion center which includes ordering, storage and administering of specialized drugs used for intravenous therapies. The Nurse Practitioner will seek patient insurance payment approvals in order to administer intravenous (IV) therapies for complex neurological diseases like multiple sclerosis (MS), CIDP, myasthenia gravis, and chronic migraines. They will monitor treatments, manage adverse reactions, and provide specialized patient education. The highly trained Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) will evaluate patients prior to their treatments, manage care protocols, and work alongside neurologists.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Infusion Center, including scheduling, billing approval, therapeutic drug management and Center certification management.
- Therapy Administration: Overseeing the delivery of specialized biologics and immunosuppressants (e.g., Ocrevus, Tysabri, Leqembi).
- Patient Assessment: Evaluating vitals and neurologic status before, during, and after the infusion.
- Symptom and Reaction Management: Recognizing and treating adverse drug reactions or infusion-related symptoms.
- Patient Education: Explaining treatment regimens, potential side effects, and long-term care plans to patients and families.
You will be supporting the founder and owner of Neurology Services, Inc., Dr. Peter Bernad, who offers effective and individualized treatments to correct a host of medical conditions. He is a board-certified physician and has broad experience in pediatric, medical and surgical care. The practice does not perform surgery but focuses on determining the basis or cause of a patient’s problem. We treat patients with a wide variety of neurological problems such as epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, headaches, Myasthenia Gravis, tumors, strokes, Alzheimer’s disease, hemorrhage, myofascial pain syndrome, closed head injuries (concussions), compensation injuries and chemical nervous system toxicity.

Neurology Services, Inc. provides neurology services at three (3) locations:
- 2616 Sherwood Hall Lane, Suite 201, Alexandria, VA 22306;
- 2112 F Street NW, Suite 303, Washington, D.C. 20037; and,
- 2296 Opitz Blvd. Suite 360, Woodbridge, VA 22191.

Responsibilities:
-Billing insurance companies following a patient’s office visit;
-Confirming that a patient’s insurance company will pay for pending clinical care;.
Requirements:
--3 to 5 years of experience with medical insurance billing
-Ability to travel between the 3 offices based on staffing and patient needs which suggest the need for a reliable personal vehicle

- Health insurance after 3 months (paid 50 per cent)

Schedule:
- 9:00 am to 5:00 pm - Monday to Friday
- 9:00 am to noon – Saturday
