Job DescriptionPart-Time AccountantWe are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Accountant to support a small, close-knit accounting office located near Chester, CT. This role supports daily accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative functions and is well suited for someone who enjoys variety in a small-office environment.
This is a part-time position (approximately 20–25 hours per week) paying $32.95 per hour, with flexibility and the opportunity for additional hours during busier periods such as tax season or month-end closings.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, payments, and follow-up
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Enter and maintain financial data in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
- Assist with payroll processing and related reporting
- Prepare basic financial reports and support month-end, year-end, and tax-related activities
- Maintain organized and confidential financial records
- Provide general administrative and clerical support as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in a small-office setting
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently
