We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school district in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students achieve academic, behavioral, and social success while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of educators and support staff.
Mandarin-speaking candidates are strongly preferred to support communication and engagement with students and families within the school community.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal and district guidelines.
Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team meetings.
Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to support student achievement.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
Active Special Education Teaching License in Washington, DC, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Previous school-based experience preferred.
Mandarin language proficiency preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Compensation for this position ranges from $24.82 to $47.82. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
