Job Description

We are looking for a dependable General Operator to support our Conditioning/Finishing department. This role involves operating production equipment, following FIFO, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards. To qualify for this position, you MUST have prior experience working with leather production.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least 1 year of experience in a production or conditioning environment.

  • Ability to safely operate industrial conditioning equipment.

  • Ability to read and follow English work instructions and production routines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process orders according to FIFO and Production Routine requirements.

  • Operate equipment including embossing presses, stakers, mills, spray lines/roll coaters, de-dusters, and air‑off tunnels.

  • Assist with equipment setup and perform basic repairs (e.g., staker belts, mill filters).

  • Monitor product quality; identify defects and report issues promptly.

  • Complete required paperwork such as traceability records, routines, and FTP charts.

  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow 5S standards.

  • Perform start‑up and end‑of‑shift equipment checks.

  • Help train new operators when experienced.

Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn measurement tools (pyrometers, tachometers, moisture meters, etc.).

  • Strong attention to detail and quality.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.



Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
