Degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years Radiology Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity seeks an experienced Radiation Therapist skilled in operating radiation therapy equipment and CT simulators, with a solid understanding of radiation safety, infection control, and quality assurance protocols. The role involves patient-centered care, including positioning, treatment accuracy, and clear communication to patients, families, and healthcare teams. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in interpreting treatment plans, ensuring accurate dose delivery, and maintaining meticulous treatment records. Some weekend call and transportation duties may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform radiation treatments and simulations with precision and timeliness, ensuring strict adherence to prescribed treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatment doses, positioning, and any prescription changes.
  • Verify physician approval via written prescriptions and signed treatment plans before administering any radiation.
  • Minimize patient exposure and ensure patient safety through accurate positioning and utilization of treatment devices.
  • Monitor equipment performance, conduct daily output checks, and report any malfunctions promptly.
  • Provide patient education regarding radiation therapy procedures and demonstrate expertise in anatomy, radiation biology, and physics.
  • Stay current with oncology treatments and technologies, meeting continuing education requirements.
  • Support efficient workflow by optimizing communication and ensuring accurate charge capture.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and coordinate closely with dosimetry teams.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Radiation Therapist, demonstrating mastery of radiation therapy equipment and record/verify systems.
  • ARRT certification with commitment to ongoing continuing education.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively assist patients, families, peers, and physicians.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control principles.
  • Ability to work weekends as part of on-call rotations.
  • Willingness to transport inpatients as necessary.
