Job Description
The Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including interviewing and hiring of staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position will aid and facilitate the human resource processes at all business locations. This role administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as a liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position will address employee issues and concerns and promote positive employee relations. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function, such as record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry. This position is responsible for safety and OSHA compliance and leads the safety committee.
Duties and Responsibilities

Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human
resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs,
recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized,
and sensitive questions and issues arise.

May be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as
providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and
terminations.

Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and

hiring of qualified job applicants, for all levels and roles within the organization.

Collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for each position and draft or update job descriptions as necessary.

Conduct audits of payroll, benefits, or other HR programs and recommend corrective action
or streamline workflows.

Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.

Develop and implement a structure for recruitment and interview processes.

Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.

Completes onboarding and payroll paperwork with new employees.

Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; provides recommendations to the Executive
Director.

Research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the
organization attracts and retains top talent.

Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations

Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate
record-keeping and proper deductions.

Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal
development opportunities for employees.

Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. May work with
-
Outsourced HR Consultants on employee relations concerns or investigations for support and
guidance.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and
recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in
human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Prepares and organizes all employee files.

Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training,
continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-
harassment training, professional licensure, aptitude exams, and certifications.

Leads the organization’s Safety committee and ensures compliance with OSHA standards.

Administer leave of absence requests, including advising employees, paperwork, and return
to work programs.

Support employees in the interactive process for job accommodation requests when
necessary.

Advise and support leadership and management team members on HR related policies and
employee relations issues.

Complete all other duties as assigned and other duties as required
Required or Preferred Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (required)
-
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certified (strongly preferred)

A minimum of three years of human resource management experience (required)

HRIS management background; Understanding of ADP Workforce Now (strongly preferred)

Starting hourly wage of $28.84 per hour, depending on knowledge and experience

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
Physical requirements for the position include frequent walking, hearing, seeing, speaking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, climbing, repetitive motions, as well as prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. This position could require exerting up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, pull, or move objects.
