Job Title: Carpenter
Job Description
This role involves a wide range of general labor carpentry tasks, including framing, blocking, installing door and window frames, and applying flashing on commercial projects. You will measure, cut, and install building structures, use various hand and power tools, and maintain a clean and safe work area. The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in outdoor construction environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform general carpentry work, including framing, blocking, and installing door and window frames.
- Install flashing and other related materials according to project specifications.
- Measure, cut, and install building structures with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Interpret and work from blueprints and construction drawings as needed.
- Use saws, hammers, power tools, pneumatic tools, and measuring tapes safely and effectively.
- Carry out general cleanup of the work area throughout the day to maintain a safe and organized job site.
- Remove scrap materials and debris and clean up around the work site at the end of each day.
- Lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Travel to various job sites as required.
- Use personal basic carpentry tools on the job and maintain them in good working condition.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adapt to changing site conditions.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use provided protective equipment at all times.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of commercial wood framing experience.
- At least 2 years of experience with flashing and door framing.
- Proven carpentry skills in both rough and finish carpentry.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints.
- Proficiency using carpentry measuring tools, including measuring tapes and related equipment.
- Hands-on experience with power tools and pneumatic tools in a construction environment.
- Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds safely and repeatedly.
- Willingness and ability to travel to different job sites as required.
- Ability to bring and use personal basic carpentry tools.
- Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on commercial construction sites.
- Experience in concrete work is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Work Environment
Work takes place entirely outdoors on commercial construction sites. At times, you will work in open elements, and at other times within partially or fully built structures. You must be comfortable working in all weather conditions and adapting to changing site environments. Standard attire includes jeans, steel-toe footwear, and a t-shirt. The company provides a hard hat and high-visibility cover. The role involves regular use of carpentry tools such as saws, hammers, power tools, pneumatic tools, and measuring tools, and requires adherence to all on-site safety practices.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
