Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader with a reputation for excellence in providing environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services to clients in diverse market sectors, seeks a Health & Safety Supervisor to support fieldwork activities during a construction project located in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. The construction project is located at a resort and will consist of guestroom repairs, back-of-house maintenance, village center renovation, and new construction including a pool, staff building, spa, and additional guest rooms. This is a temporary position (16 months).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Executes, supervises, and documents health and safety aspects of construction activities, which includes, but is not limited to:
    • Site safety supervision and inspections
    • OSHA compliance oversight including reviewing and updating the site-specific Health and Safety Plan and supporting documents
    • Conducting morning, mid-day, and end of day safety meetings
    • Coordination of all safety requirements with contractors, vendors, and the client
    • Supervising construction activities based on the project requirements
    • Incident prevention, investigation and reporting
    • Safety procedure development and implementation: maintain records of all inspections, training, safety meetings, incidents, and compliance activities
    • Adhering to GES Health & Safety Standards in all field-related activities


Skills and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to speak English and Spanish
  • Must live locally, or be willing to re-locate for approximately 16 months starting in July 2026 (housing to be provided in this case)
  • 5-10+ years of related fieldwork or construction safety experience
  • OSHA 30-hour certification
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to engage construction personnel at all levels
  • Proficiency in safety reporting tools and Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to support project needs, and be agreeable to outdoor work
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be detail oriented and a team player
