Job DescriptionMedical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced ***Phlebotomist for Oncology***.
- Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience required working in a lab setting drawing blood.
This is a Full TIME (5 DAYS A WEEK) /TEMPORARY position requiring availability between the hours of 7:30AM-4:00PM Monday through Friday, located in Norfolk, VA (23502).
Responsibilities :A Day in the life of a Phlebotomist in Oncology :
As a Phlebotomist in Oncology you will be responsible for drawing blood and other tissue or fluid from Oncology patients for testing and labwork. Most importantly the Phlebotomist will verify the identity of the patient that the blood will be drawn from, label the collection tubes accurately, explain to the patient what will happen next throughout the procedure, prep the patient for drawing blood, and answer any questions that the patient may have. As the phlebotomist you must be confident in your skills for this fast paced lab position.
Requirements for the Phlebotomist :
- Required: 1+ year of experience working in a lab setting as a phlebotomist
- Required: Comfortable in venipuncture skills
- Required: BLS
- Required: COVID Vaccination
- Required: Ability to pass Background Check
- Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
- Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications for the Phlebotomist :
- Preferred: Oncology experience
