As a Radiology/Mammography Tech, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures in accordance with physician orders and imaging protocols.
- Ensure proper positioning, exposure, and image quality for accurate interpretation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document imaging procedures in the EMR system.
- Provide compassionate patient care, explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
- Follow strict safety, infection control, and radiation protection guidelines.
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare staff to support patient outcomes.
- Assist with quality assurance, equipment calibration, and daily operational checks.
- Responsible for EMR documentation and updating patient information and patient education.
A few must-haves for Radiology Tech:
- ARRT Certification in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M) required.
- State of Georgia Radiologic Technologist license (or eligibility).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent mammography experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mammography positioning, imaging techniques, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
- ATHENA experience is a plus
- Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations
- Good clinical judgement, strong interpersonal skills, resourceful and compassionate
