Job Title: Purchasing Buyer
This position plays a critical role in ensuring that our manufacturing operations are supplied with the necessary materials and components to meet production schedules and quality standards. This position involves strategic sourcing, negotiation with suppliers, and managing supplier relationships to optimize costs and ensure timely delivery. The Buyer will analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions that align with the company's goals. Additionally, this role requires collaboration with engineering and production teams to understand their needs and ensure that procurement strategies support overall project timelines. Ultimately, the Buyer will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our aerospace manufacturing processes, driving both cost savings and quality improvements.

Job Location: Wichita, KS, USA - This is an onsite position only.
Pay Range: $58,000 - $65,000 annually
Experience: 3+ years of buyer experience in manufacturing environment
Job Duties
- Follows policies and procedures for the purchase of goods and services.
- Negotiates long term agreements and pricing agreements
- Selects vendors on the basis of price, capability, and past performance following departmental guidelines.
- Keeps accurate records, including price histories and any problems in doing business with particular vendors.
- Implement and Monitor Metrics as required
- Works closely with managers scheduling production
- Complete PO’s for consumables, shop supplies and small tools
- Solicit RFQ’s for new consumables, shop supplies, small tools, and outside operations
- Maintain vendor pricing; continually check for better pricing
- Enter and maintain data in ERP system
- Maintain vendor contacts
- Support estimating as required
- Maintain min/max levels of consumables inventory
- Arrange transportation for finished goods with customer trucking or other means
- Assist in the completion of end of the month inventory (counting, adjustments)
- Work closely with Accounting team for end of month review and closing when necessary
- Work independently and also as a team member.
Requirements
- 3+ years of buyer experience in manufacturing environment, aerospace preferred
- Associate's Degree in related field preferred or relative years of experience
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing process and regulations, preferred
- Experience implementing cost reductions strategies and negotiating contracts and pricing
- Strong organizational skills
- Must maintain excellent attendance and work well with a team
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English language
- Must be a US Citizen or a current green card holder
Working Conditions:
- Hours: Monday - Friday; 8am - 4:30pm
- The essential duties job may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, to walk and sit for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds; to use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects; to perceive the attributes of objects by touch; to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others on the phone and in the office. Frequently being on foot, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climb stairs and kneeling and/or crouch to retrieve files and other items. Writing to complete reports and service requests. Occasionally Lifting and carrying (with assistance) items weighing 20-50 lbs.
