We are seeking an experienced CNC Inspector Level 2 or 3 with strong knowledge in precision inspection of API threaded components, utilizing Gauge Maker and MRP Gauge systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring machined parts meet strict industry and customer specifications by performing in-depth dimensional and visual inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of CNC machined parts, with a focus on API threads (e.g., 5CT, 7-1, 6A, etc.).
Accurately use Gauge Maker, MRP Gauges, and other API-certified inspection tools to verify thread form, taper, lead, pitch diameter, and other critical features.
Interpret and understand engineering drawings, GD&T, thread specifications, and quality standards.
Document inspection results in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
Collaborate with machinists and production teams to ensure parts are produced to specification.
Identify non-conforming parts and initiate NCR (Non-Conformance Reports) or hold procedures.
Calibrate and maintain thread gauges and measuring equipment, ensuring all instruments are within certification.
Maintain a clean and organized inspection area, following 5S and safety protocols.
Support quality audits and customer inspections as required.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
3+ years of experience in dimensional inspection of precision CNC parts, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
Proven expertise with API threading inspection using Gauge Maker and/or MRP Gauge tools.
Strong understanding of API specifications (5CT, 7-1, 6A, etc.).
Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and inspection recordkeeping.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical specifications.
Knowledge of GD&T and metrology best practices.
Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
Certified Thread Inspector (CTI) or similar certification.
Experience using CMM, optical comparators, or laser measurement tools.
