Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced MEP Coordinator with a strong background in commercial plumbing to support project coordination from preconstruction through completion.
This is primarily an office-based role, with regular site visits encouraged to ensure field alignment and proactive problem-solving. The ideal candidate understands plumbing systems, commercial construction workflows, and BIM coordination processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead MEP coordination for commercial plumbing projects
- Manage and participate in BIM coordination meetings and clash detection
- Coordinate plumbing systems with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural trades
- Review and manage submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs
- Identify and resolve design conflicts before installation
- Work closely with Project Managers, Foremen, Engineers, and General Contractors
- Conduct periodic jobsite visits to verify installation matches coordinated drawings
- Assist with scheduling, procurement planning, and sequencing of MEP work
- Ensure compliance with local codes, union standards, and project specifications
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or similar BIM software
- 5+ years of experience in MEP coordination or commercial plumbing project management
- Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Working knowledge of local plumbing codes and commercial standards
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple commercial projects simultaneously
