The ideal candidate will have strong skills in AR, credit, and collections, with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes. You'll be working closely with a veteran team member to learn the intricacies of the role before taking full responsibility for the AR department.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage ACH transactions, deposits, and credit references for the company and its newly acquired subsidiary
Learn and eventually take over all aspects of the AR department from the current long-term employee
Handle credit and collections processes, ensuring timely payments and maintaining positive customer relationships
Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting
Prepare and analyze AR reports, identifying trends and making recommendations for process improvements
Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable
Contribute to the development and implementation of AR policies and procedures in line with the new ERP system
Manage customer accounts, including setting up new accounts, maintaining customer files, and updating credit terms
Required Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Strong understanding of AR processes, including invoicing, collections, and credit management
Proficiency in ERP systems, with experience in Sage 100 a plus
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for financial reporting and analysis
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, changing environment
Experience with ACH transactions and electronic payment systems
