Temp-to-Hire
Mon–Thurs, 8am–6pm (1-hour lunch; early leave at 5:30pm on Thursdays)
100% on site - York, SC
Join a mission-driven team supporting affordable housing in York County. We’re seeking a highly organized and patient Housing Choice Voucher Coordinator to manage the daily operations of the Section 8 program. This role involves coordinating voucher issuance, verifying applicant eligibility, managing inspections, and maintaining compliance with HUD regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Approve and process new applicants
- Conduct voucher meetings and issue vouchers
- Coordinate inspections and rent reasonableness checks
- Maintain accurate tenant files and manage recertifications
- Communicate with landlords and tenants (50–60 contacts/day)
- Oversee program compliance, billing, and reporting
- Supervise one staff member (Inspector)
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication via phone, email, and in person
- Comfortable managing paperwork and juggling multiple tasks
- Patient, empathetic, and knowledgeable about housing programs
Training & Certification provided upon permanent hire, including HUD compliance tools and program updates.
