An Inpatient Pharmacist role is available for a 13-week contract assignment starting Monday, March 23. This position offers an overnight shift schedule with a unique 7 nights on / 7 nights off rotation.
Location:
- Norfolk, VA area
Schedule:
- Overnight shifts: 8:30 PM 7:30 AM Monday through Thursday
- 7:30 PM 7:30 AM Friday through Sunday
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and process medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Manage IV medications, pain controlled analgesia, and antibiotic dosing
- Monitor drug interactions and adjust therapies as necessary
- Utilize EPIC for electronic medical records (EMR) documentation and order entry
- Support inpatient pharmacy operations with strong knowledge of medication protocols
- Preferred experience includes chemotherapy preparation, anticoagulant management, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing adjustments
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Virginia pharmacist license at time of application (strict requirement)
- Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience is required
- Experience in IV therapy, pain control, antibiotics, and medication verification is mandatory
- Prior travel pharmacy experience and EPIC EMR proficiency are highly preferred
- Solid understanding of inpatient pharmacy standards and procedures
