Appliance Technician


Location: All Regions (VA/MD/DC and surrounding areas)

About the Role


Were looking for a hands-on, customer-focused Appliance Technician to join our growing team! In this role, youll travel to customer locations, diagnose and repair commercial and residential laundry equipment, and ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Our ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, and enjoys solving problems in the field. Youll represent ALS with professionalism, courtesy, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

What Youll Do


  • Receive and complete daily service orders for washer and dryer installations, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Load and unload your service vehicle, manage parts inventory, and follow all company procedures for equipment handling and safety.
  • Diagnose technical issues and communicate effectively with Property Managers and Customers to explain problems and solutions.
  • Perform quality repairs and test equipment to ensure proper function before leaving the job site.
  • Keep detailed and accurate service records and ensure all paperwork is completed daily.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment both at customer sites and in company vehicles.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance, report issues, and ensure secure operation of company equipment.
  • Collaborate with the team and support installation or coin laundry operations as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training to build technical knowledge and stay current on best practices.
  • Follow all safety, health, and environmental regulations as required by company policy and law.

What Were Looking For


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment (up to 400 lbs. with proper equipment).
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, meters, and basic electrical/wiring concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge of federal and state health and safety regulations.
  • Bonus: Gas line installation certification or related technical certifications.
