Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Free Standing Emergency Department position in Spokane, WA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of trauma experience and active WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED) located approximately 7 miles north of the main hospital campus in Spokane, WA
- 16 beds plus additional treatment spaces
- Patient population includes respiratory emergencies, behavioral health, general medical emergencies, psych, trauma stabilization, sepsis, cardiac, stroke, and other critical cases across all ages — approximately 20% pediatric
- No on-site pharmacy; nurses are responsible for mixing and administering medications including cardiac drips and pressors
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required, though actual frequency may be less
- Floating within the main hospital ED may be required
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- NRP certification preferred but not required
- Minimum 2 years of trauma experience required; first-time travelers must have 5+ years of experience
- Proficiency in CPR/codes, trauma care, bedside procedure assistance, IV placement, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube placement, and triage
- Experience mixing and administering medications including cardiac drips and pressors
- Ultrasound-guided IV skills a plus
- At least one supervisor-level reference required; a second will be needed prior to start

- First-time travelers are considered with 5+ years of emergency/trauma nursing experience
- Solid-colored scrubs required — no graphic prints
