Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade in Aurora, CO. This role focuses on self-contained, resource, and special day classrooms, supporting diverse learning needs in an elementary to high school setting.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active state teaching license in special education
- Experience or training in working with Grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
- Ability to manage self-contained and resource classrooms effectively
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs in self-contained and resource classrooms
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities
- Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families to support student progress and inclusion
- Monitor and document student performance and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Position Details:
- Location: Aurora, Colorado
- Contract Term: January 2026 through June 2026
- Schedule: 5 days per week, 30-37.5 hours per week
- Age Group: Kindergarten through 12th Grade with multiple openings
