Intern Description:

Sasha Bruce Youthwork is looking for an intern to work with the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation. The intern will work with the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation to conduct an implementation evaluation of one of our programs.

The intern will also help in implementing organization-wide client satisfaction survey. This will include: implementing the survey at all residential programs (which will include talking and interviewing clients), analyzing the results (which will include using Excel and creating tables), writing summaries, and presenting the results to senior staff.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist with data visualization tasks, including translating quantitative data into digestible easy to understand visuals
  • Assist with data cleaning, data entry, and quality assurance within internal databases (e.g., Apricot, HMIS, Excel-based Trackers)
  • Support qualitative and quantitative data analysis for program performance, outcomes, and grant reporting
  • Develop or update monitoring tools such as surveys, forms, and logic models
  • Support the preparation of dashboards, briefs, and visualizations for internal and external audiences
  • Participate in site visits, program observations, or staff interviews as needed
  • Contribute to mid-year and end-of-summer evaluation summaries
  • Perform additional administrative and research tasks to support the MEL team

Qualifications

  • Organized, open-minded, a good listener, an active communicator, and willing to learn new skills.
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate) in public health, public policy, social sciences, education, data analytics, or related field
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Canva required; familiarity with statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in youth development, social services, and community-based evaluation
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time effectively
  • Commitment to equity, confidentiality, and trauma-informed practice

Internship Logistics

  • Schedule: 30-40 hours per week
  • Location: Hybrid
  • Supervision: Intern will report to the Director or Monitoring &Evaluation
