Job DescriptionAbout the Role
Talarico for Texas is seeking a full-time photographer to join the James Talarico campaign. This position is in-house and will require frequent travel across the state of Texas. The ideal candidate is highly independent, flexible, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments with quick turnaround times.
Responsibilities
- Travel statewide to capture high-quality photography at 2–4 events per week.
- Document events, speakers, crowds, meetings, and behind-the-scenes moments in a dynamic and engaging style.
- Edit and deliver photos quickly, ensuring assets are ready within tight deadlines.
- Work closely with the communications and digital team to produce content aligned with messaging.
- Maintain and organize photo libraries for easy access and future use.
- Provide creative input on visual strategy and storytelling.
- Adapt to different settings, including rallies, press conferences, galas, churches, and community events.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a professional photographer, with a portfolio showcasing event and candid photography.
- Strong editing skills with proficiency in Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments under pressure.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Texas, sometimes on short notice.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Owns and maintains professional-grade photography equipment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Experience working in political, nonprofit, or fast-paced event environments.
- Familiarity with social media formats and content needs.
