The Administrative Assistant will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the marina and retail store. This role involves customer service, record-keeping, scheduling, and general office tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, friendly, and comfortable working in a dynamic, lakeside environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet customers, answer phone calls, respond to emails, and assist with inquiries about marina services, boat rentals, and dock reservations.
- Scheduling: Manage dock and boat rental bookings, coordinate with staff for maintenance and fueling schedules, and maintain an organized calendar.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of customer accounts, invoices, and payments. Update inventory logs for fuel and marina supplies.
- Office Management: Handle general office tasks such as filing, data entry, and ordering supplies. Ensure the office area remains tidy and professional.
- Communication: Relay important information between marina staff, management, and customers. Assist with marketing efforts, such as updating social media or creating flyers for events.
- Support Marina Operations: Assist with event planning for marina activities (e.g., fishing tournaments, community events) and provide occasional support to dock staff during peak times.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous administrative or customer service experience preferred. Experience in a marina, hospitality, or outdoor recreation setting is a plus but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills. Familiarity with scheduling or booking software is a plus.
- Friendly and professional demeanor with a customer-focused attitude.
- Availability: Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, especially during the peak boating season (May–September).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods, perform light lifting (up to 20 lbs), and occasionally walk to dock areas.
- Other: Must enjoy working in a small, tight-knit team and be comfortable in an outdoor, lakefront environment.
