TASK FORCE MANAGER:
Marriott and Hyatt brand experience strongly preferred.
SUMMARY: The Task Force Manager supports multiple hotels across the MIA Hospitality Management portfolio, providing operational, financial, and leadership support during transitions, openings, or management vacancies. This position requires a high level of adaptability, the ability to train and mentor staff, oversee accounting functions, and ensure brand compliance. The role involves extensive travel to properties throughout the United States to ensure seamless operations and maintain the highest standards of guest satisfaction and financial performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with MIA Hospitality Management core values.
- Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas and grounds for cleanliness, appearance and safety.
- Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services and resolve guests’ complaints and concerns promptly.
- Prepare schedules based upon occupancy and assign duties to associates.
- Take inventory and submit periodic inventory orders to ensure supplies are purchased in a timely manner.
- Prepare required departmental reports and documentation.
- Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
- Oversee all vendor and personnel contracts throughout the hotel.
- Create specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely (SMART) action plans to improve service and operational deficiencies.
- Follow sustainability and safety practices in accordance with company policy, MSDS, and OSHA standards.
- Practice safe work habits; wear protective safety equipment and participate in safety committees as directed.
- Perform other duties as requested by management or the Corporate Office.
ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT:
- Support and train property-level accounting teams in compliance with MIAHM internal controls.
- Monitor all financial operations including daily revenue audits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing.
- Ensure compliance with accounting controls and audit standards at all assigned properties.
- Code Invoices as needed when overseeing or covering position
- Train managers and department heads on financial literacy, P&L review, and cost management.
DEPARTMENTAL OVERSIGHT:
- Supervise all Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Accounting and Guest Services department managers.
- Monitor occupancy and guest room utilization to ensure efficiency and minimize overbooking.
- Review guest correspondence, incident logs, and service recovery reports to ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with specific brand standards and MIAHM operational procedures.
- Lead property teams to improve service scores, operational efficiency, and team performance.
- Ensure all safety and key control standards are adhered to in compliance with internal audit requirements.
TASK FORCE & TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:
- Serve as interim leadership during management transitions, new openings, or operational changes.
- Travel 100% of the time to properties nationwide, with both short-term and long-term assignments as needed.
- Lead by example while stabilizing property operations and ensuring seamless communication with the Corporate Office.
- Provide comprehensive handovers and operational training to permanent management teams before assignment conclusion.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of hospitality experience at a managerial level is required.
- Previous Marriott and Hyatt brand experience strongly preferred.
- Required ability to stay on-site for short-term or long-term coverage assignments.
- Advanced knowledge of brand systems including Opera, Fosse, Lightspeed, Micros, MGS, and PVNG.
- Brand and system administrator experience preferred.
