Job DescriptionMechanical AssemblerPay Rate: $21-$22/hr
Shift: 5AM to 1:30PM M – F, expect daily overtime for a shift of up to 12 hours per day, and weekend work is also expected
** Valve Assembly Experience preferred!**
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for the assembly of finished products, components, or sub-assemblies of oil and gas valves and chemical injection pumps. This position works under limited supervision and guidance.
- Understand basic pneumatics
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Read and interpret schematics
- Assembly of 2700 series control valves
- Lapping of plug an seats (trim kits)
- Assembly of Pneumatic actuators
- Positioner mounting and calibration
- Mounting and instrumentation of pressure controllers
- 3/8" stainless steel tube bending and installation
- Troubleshooting skills-Basic Electricity and Electronics
- Ability to use Electrical Instruments
- Ability to do minor Electrical Troubleshooting
Level I Functions:• Reads work instructions, work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding required duties. Interprets assembly instructions, drawings, schematics and engineering specifications to build/test quality products.• Assembles different parts of manufactured products using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. Completely assembles, tests, disassembles and repairs products built on the line.• Sets up moderate to semi-complex test equipment on a variety of products to measure and record assembly conformance to test specifications. Sets up test stands with appropriate plumbing for pneumatic and hydrostatic tests from required product test specifications.• Completes required test documentation including test reports.• Inspects, understands and documents all materials, heat numbers, components, subassemblies and specifications to assure they meet the accepted quality standards.• Completes required inspection documentation, marking of heat #'s and nameplate.• Participates in Lean events with active involvement in Continuous Improvement initiatives.• Responsible for the safe operation of tools and machinery while performing daily tasks. Responsible for the safety of other working in the area while performing daily tasks. Responsible observation the safety of others around and reporting unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately as noticed.• Must immediately shut down production and report safety or quality concern(s) to a supervisor, engineer, manager, EHS or Quality representative.
Level II Functions:• Assists in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of less experienced assemblers.• Ensure accurate movement of inventory through their assigned area – transactions, production reporting, resolution of negatives, etc…• Execute and track shift performance with GEMBA boards on a daily basis ensuring root-cause analysis and identify counter measures.• Completes Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) including inventory transactions.• Complete and report PR's and ECN reports.• Assists in preparing, maintaining and utilizing test stations and test equipment for factory and system acceptance testing.• Perform layered process audits and quality audits as assigned. Perform product quality audits and roving audits as required.• Comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process as it pertains to your respective production cell(s).• Proficient in Oracle. Must employ Oracle to navigate and execute tasks to complete work orders, WIP transactions, material workbench, supply demand, material requirements, simulate discrete jobs, etc.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:• Preferred high school diploma or GED• At least three years of related manufacturing assembly and testing of the following types of products: relief valves, chemical injection pumps, control/dump/check valves, butterfly valves, liquid level controllers/switches.• Experience in ERP systems, Oracle preferred.
