Summary of Functions

Responsible for greeting and assisting the guests of the Northern Quest Resort & Casino in accordance to AAA 4 Diamond /Forbes 4 Star standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians- Internal Controls, and Northern Quest Resort & Casino Policies and Procedures.
• Provide exceptional service to customers and employees when performing job duties and conduct oneself in a professional and businesslike manner to reflect Northern Quest’s high standard of excellence.
• Sincerely greets everyone at all times. Smiles, makes eye contact and verbally greets guests and co-workers from arrival to the property through departure.
• Exhibit a genuine sense of interest and concern for the guest.
• Assists guests getting in or out of automobile.
• Assists guests into and out of the hotel. Assists guest with luggage, parking arrangements and directional information within the resort and the local area.
• Escort and direct guests throughout the property.
• Provide prompt luggage service and orientation of the guest rooms.
• May be required to park and retrieve guest’s vehicles during shift.
• Follow procedures regarding the handling of keys and valet ticket distribution.
• Assumes responsibility for safe and correct care and usage of all vehicles and equipment used or assigned.
• Report accidents or injuries to management or security immediately.
• Works as a team with other associates to maintain the best service standards available.
• Report unsafe conditions and anticipate hazards constantly.
• Use proper interpersonal skills when dealing with customers and employees.
• Works to ensure “Special Requests” of guests are handled properly.
• Capably answer questions about the entire hotel. Up sells and suggests the use of the resort’s outlets and services.
• Share information with other departments to facilitate their successful performance.
• Assists with maintaining cleanliness of front entrance of hotel.
• Ensure guest confidentiality standards are followed.
• Responsible for maintaining a good attendance record.
• Ensure control/protection of company assets.
• Distributes information with current brochures, fliers and Resort information.

Education

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience
• Experience in a four star/four diamond hotel preferred.

Skills

• Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and other computer software.
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department head and employees.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Other Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Kalispel Tribal Gaming License.
• Must have in possession a valid state driver’s license while on shift.
• Must be able to be insured by the company insurance carrier.
• Available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
• Hepatitis A & B vaccinations are required as a condition of employment.

• Requires the ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
