Validation Engineer | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $79,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and execute validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) for manufacturing equipment, processes, and systems.
• Author final validation summary reports to document evidence of successful validation activities.
• Investigate and resolve deviations, non-conformances, and discrepancies encountered during validation execution.
• Create and maintain the site Validation Master Plan (VMP) to outline the overall validation strategy.
• Review and assess change control requests to determine the impact on the validated state of equipment and processes.
• Ensure all validation activities and documentation comply with cGMP, FDA, and other relevant regulatory standards.
• Manage the re-validation and periodic review program for qualified equipment and validated processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing departments to support validation projects.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) or a related scientific field.
• Proven experience in developing and executing validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ).
• Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA).
• Experience with process validation, equipment validation, and cleaning validation.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods for validation reporting.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and change control procedures.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software and methodologies.
• - Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, LabVIEW).
• - Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and their application in validation.
• - Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) techniques and problem-solving tools.
• - Certification in relevant quality management systems (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer).
