A confidential U.S.-based investment platform is seeking a senior investment professional to serve as Chief Investment Officer or Investment Partner as part of its founding leadership team.
The platform is in the process of launching its first institutional growth equity strategy focused on businesses aligned with long-term national resilience, industrial capability, and government-adjacent markets. The role is intended for an experienced investor who wants to help architect an investment platform from the ground up.
This is a partner-level opportunity with meaningful economics and long-term upside, designed for candidates comfortable operating in a build-phase environment.
Responsibilities
• Define and lead the investment strategy and underwriting framework
• Evaluate and execute growth equity investments
• Establish IC materials, diligence standards, and portfolio construction
• Support capital formation and LP engagement
• Partner with management teams post-investment
• Help shape governance, process, and institutional infrastructure
Ideal Background
• 10+ years in growth equity, private equity, or principal investing
• Experience leading or materially contributing to transactions
• Familiarity with defense, technology, industrial, or government-adjacent sectors
• Comfortable operating in an early-stage GP environment
• Strong independent judgment and execution capability
Compensation
• Founding Partner-level economics with meaningful carried interest
• Participation in management fee economics as the platform scales
• Modest or deferred cash during the formation phase
