Early Childhood Lead Teacher

Position Summary
Keystone Academy & Early Learning is seeking a passionate, dependable, and experienced Early Childhood Lead Teacher to join our founding team in Bettendorf, Iowa. This is an exciting opportunity to help build a high-quality early learning program from the ground up while making a lasting impact on children, families, and the community.
The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of young children.
This position plays a key role in classroom leadership, curriculum implementation, family communication, and maintaining compliance with all licensing and program requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily learning activities.
- Create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
- Observe, assess, and document children's growth and development.
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident, and classroom records.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with families regarding children's progress and daily activities.
- Guide and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides.
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and sanitation standards.
- Follow all state licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and center policies.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with administration and fellow team members to support program goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CDA, Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting preferred.
- Strong classroom management and leadership skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Must be able to pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Ability to supervise children both indoors and outdoors.

Schedule
Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Pay
Starting at $17 per hour, based on education, experience, and qualifications.
