Job DescriptionPosition: Audiologist – Veteran Disability Assessments
We are looking for a committed Audiologist to become a part of our team, focusing on conducting medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits assessment process. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing Veterans' medical histories, which are securely uploaded into a designated computer portal, prior to administering a Maryland CNC Test and Puretone Audiometric test. Following these assessments, you will complete a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) within the portal, which will generate the necessary medical documentation for the VA to evaluate the Veteran’s eligibility for benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans.
- Review and analyze electronic medical records through a secure web portal.
- Accurately document examination results and fill out required VA forms.
Note: This position does not involve prescribing medical treatments or devices. Disability determinations are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), not by the provider.
Schedule:
- Part-Time: 2 days per week (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
- Average caseload: 3-6 Veterans per day.
- Equipment provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools.
Qualifications:
- A compassionate Audiologist dedicated to serving the Veteran community.
- Strong analytical abilities for reviewing medical records and assessment data.
- Proficient in electronic documentation and web-based systems.
- Professional and empathetic demeanor when interacting with Veterans.
- Doctorate degree in Audiology from an ASHA Accredited institution.
- Current licensure as an Audiologist.
