Construction Sales Manager

Role Overview
We are seeking an energetic Construction Sales Manager to join our growing team. This hybrid role is perfect for a sales leader with a strong, proven background in sales management within the construction industry. You will be the driving force behind our project sales – managing warm leads provided by the company and proactively generating your own leads to expand our client base. Key Responsibilities
· Drive Sales Growth: Lead the entire sales cycle for residential and light commercial construction projects (renovations, disaster repair, ADUs, custom homes, small commercial build-outs). From initial inquiry to signed contract, ensure a smooth, engaging experience for every client.
· Lead Management & Business Development: Manage and follow up with inbound leads supplied by TomCo’s marketing efforts, and actively prospect for new business through networking, referrals, and community engagement. You’ll keep our pipeline full by forging new relationships while nurturing existing ones.
· Client Consultation: Meet with homeowners and business owners to understand their construction needs and vision. Provide knowledgeable consultations and tailored proposals that highlight how TomCo can bring their project to life.
· Proposal & Contract Negotiation: Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, estimates, and proposals. Work closely with our estimating and project management team to ensure accuracy and feasibility. Negotiate contract terms and close deals that are win-wins for both the client and TomCo.
· CRM & Pipeline Management: Utilize our high-level CRM system and BuilderTREND software to track leads, opportunities, and project bids. Maintain detailed records of client communications, follow-ups, and project status. Keep management updated with accurate sales forecasts and progress reports.
· Market Insight & Strategy: Stay informed about industry trends, local market developments, and competitor offerings in the Tampa Bay area. Identify new market opportunities (e.g., emerging neighborhoods, new services) and contribute ideas to refine our sales strategy.
· Community Representation: Represent TomCo Solutions at industry events, local community meetings, and networking functions. Build our brand presence and trust within the community, reflecting our values of inclusion and community-building while generating new leads and partnerships.
· Collaboration: Work closely with the company’s leadership and project teams to align sales efforts with project schedules and company goals. Provide feedback on customer needs and market trends to help drive continuous improvement and innovation in our services.
Qualifications
· Proven Construction Sales Experience: A strong track record of success in sales management roles within the construction industry (residential and/or light commercial). You know the ins and outs of selling construction services and have the numbers to prove it.
· Sales & Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. You excel at listening to clients, understanding their needs, and guiding them toward solutions – ultimately closing deals and ensuring customer satisfaction.
· Self-Starter: Highly motivated and proactive in driving new business. You’re comfortable generating your own leads and pursuing opportunities with minimal hand-holding. Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment (mix of office, remote, and field work).
· Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and sales tracking tools. Experience with BuilderTREND or similar construction management software is highly preferred. Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to quickly learn new tech tools.
· Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of residential construction/remodeling processes and terminology. Knowledge of the Tampa Bay construction market and permitting processes is a plus.
· Leadership & Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple leads and projects simultaneously. Experience in leading or mentoring a small sales team is a plus. You take ownership of your goals and consistently meet or exceed targets.
· Education & License: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management or related field is preferred (but proven experience is most important). A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required for traveling to client meetings and job sites (mileage reimbursed). Candidates must be able to pass a background check.
Compensation & Benefits
· Base Salary + Commission: $65,000 base salary plus commission (percentage of gross sales). Your earning potential grows with every project you close!
· Vehicle Allowance: Mileage reimbursement at $0.70 per mile for work-related travel, plus all tolls and parking expenses covered.
· Health Insurance Stipend: Up to $500 per month toward your health insurance premiums (with proof of coverage).
· Paid Time Off: 14 days of PTO per year to rest and recharge.
· Paid Holidays: 9 paid holidays, including New Year’s Eve & Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Day.
· Personal Days: Your birthday off every year, plus 6 paid volunteer days to give back to the community. (That’s 30 total paid days off annually when combined with PTO and holidays!)
