Instructional Designer II
Location: Hybrid in Santa Monica, CA (3 days onsite)
Duration: 6-Month W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $40–$50/hr (depending on experience)

This team is focused on upskilling technical talent and enabling continuous improvement across large-scale engineering and operations programs.

About the Team:
You'll be embedded within the Communications, Organizational Learning and Benchmarking (COLaB) group—yes, that’s as cool as it sounds—responsible for creating highly effective training solutions, tools, and mechanisms to support internal development initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Partner with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and develop targeted training strategies.
- Design and write materials that support Instructor-Led, Virtual, and eLearning environments.
- Build engaging content including job aids, reference materials, and trainee evaluation tools.
- Lead needs analysis efforts and assess existing materials to determine the best instructional approach.
- Develop templates and scalable processes to support ongoing learning content creation.
- Maintain and iterate on current programs to ensure content relevance and effectiveness.
What You Bring:
- 3–6 years of experience in instructional design, technical writing, or education-focused content creation.
- Experience designing materials for adult learners using best practices in on-the-job learning and knowledge management.
- Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Independent, self-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
Strongly Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency with Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate
- Demonstrated ability to conduct organizational analysis and design scalable learning mechanisms
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Familiarity with HTML, Photoshop, and other content development tools
