The New Art Center is a vibrant community art space where everyone has the opportunity to make, exhibit, view, think about, and talk about art. Since 1977, we've served over 2,500 students annually through hundreds of classes and workshops taught by some of the region's most esteemed art educators. We offer an inclusive, multi-generational approach to art education for children, teens, and adults at all skill levels across our welcoming facilities and online platforms.

About the Role

We're seeking a highly organized, collaborative Marketing Manager to lead our marketing and communications efforts. This role is perfect for someone who loves bringing creative projects to life-managing timelines, coordinating with partners, and ensuring every piece of communication reflects our mission and brand.

You'll be the internal champion of our marketing execution, translating organizational goals into actionable plans and working hands-on to make them happen. You'll coordinate with external creative and digital partners while staying deeply involved in day-to-day marketing activities. What You'll DoMarketing Strategy & Execution

  • Maintain a comprehensive marketing calendar supporting enrollment, fundraising, exhibitions, and community engagement
  • Turn organizational priorities into clear marketing plans and campaign timelines
  • Coordinate content across education, development, and public programs
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications and channels
  • Manage deadlines, approvals, and deliverables

Digital Communications

  • Plan and execute email marketing campaigns using established brand templates
  • Build and segment email lists to drive enrollment, fundraising, and engagement
  • Manage website content updates in WordPress (classes, events, exhibitions, appeals)
  • Track performance metrics and provide reporting insights
  • Coordinate with external partners on technical improvements

Social Media & Content

  • Develop and schedule social media content aligned with institutional priorities
  • Coordinate photo and video content creation with staff and faculty
  • Monitor engagement and adjust strategies as needed
  • Maintain an organized library of digital assets and approved materials

Print & Community Marketing

  • Oversee production of print materials including catalogs, postcards, signage, and event materials
  • Manage vendor relationships, timelines, and quality control
  • Support grassroots marketing through community listings, local partnerships, and on-site promotions
  • Coordinate participation in local events (tabling, flyers, promotional materials)

Partnership Management

  • Serve as primary liaison with external design and digital strategy partners
  • Coordinate outsourced projects including website updates, paid advertising (Google Ads, Meta), SEO strategy, and major campaign materials
  • Deploy and adapt designer-created templates for ongoing marketing needs
  • Monitor campaign performance and collaborate on optimization

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Partner with education, development, exhibitions, and operations teams to identify stories and promotional priorities
  • Work with faculty and program staff to showcase classes and workshops
  • Support fundraising communications and campaigns
  • Assist with press releases and media outreach
  • Supervise seasonal interns or contractors as needed

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of marketing management experience (nonprofit or arts/culture experience preferred)
  • Strong email marketing and list segmentation skills
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication abilities
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities
  • Experience with social media management, digital advertising, SEO, and WordPress
  • Proficiency with CRM/database platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Art Center Canvas)
  • Graphic design skills using Canva, InDesign, and/or Photoshop
  • Technical proficiency with Google Ads and Meta advertising platforms
  • Ability to multitask and stay focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements

This is an on-site position in a historic building without elevator access. The role requires the ability to climb stairs, remain seated for extended periods, operate standard office equipment, and occasionally lift materials up to 20 pounds.
