Hydro, Inc.—with corporate headquarters in Chicago—has been the largest independent pump reengineering aftermarket company in the world since 1969. In our Aston, PA facility, we’re seeking a seasoned professional to lead hands-on rebuilds that return mission-critical rotating equipment to service.
Position: Senior Centrifugal and Vertical Pump Mechanic | Shift: First | Type: Full-time, on-site

The Challenge
- Own the end-to-end process: diagnose, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble large pumps of many types.
- Translate blueprints and schematics into action, constructing foundations/fixtures for precise assembly and disassembly.
- Apply rigorous measurement using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to validate tolerances.
- Leverage manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools to deliver accurate, reliable outcomes.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move and stage components safely.
- Consistently achieve exacting standards of accuracy.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 7+ years as a pump mechanic or equivalent experience rebuilding large rotating equipment.
- Fluency with hand tools (wrenches, impact guns) and a full suite of shop tools.
- Proven overhead crane and forklift operation.
- Ability to read and comprehend inspection tools and documentation.
- Clear oral and written communication.
- Manual dexterity, control precision, critical thinking, and deductive reasoning.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Equipment, Tools, and Technologies
- Manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools for equipment operation.
- Micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tooling (M&TE).
- Fork trucks and overhead cranes.
- Liquid Fill Pumps and Equipment.
Environment
The environmental characteristic for this position is an industrial setting with large machinery, overhead cranes, trucks and forklifts. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional warehouse environment.
