Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in Lima, OH, requiring post-operative open heart care experience and advanced cardiac monitoring proficiency.
Details
- Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating to all units within skill level is required
Requirements
- Active OH or Compact RN license (verified active via Nursys)
- Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Post-operative open heart care experience required
- Critical care experience highly preferred
- Chest tube and other drain management experience required
- Experience with pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access required
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading and interpreting rhythm strips and recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms required
- Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities required
- Experience assisting with chest tube removal, pericardial pacing wire removal, temporary pacer management (pericardial and transcutaneous), and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) devices required
- Experience with high-flow oxygen and other oxygen delivery systems required
- Current Telemetry skills checklist (within the past year) required for consideration
Additional Information
- The RN assumes full responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria
- Assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries
- Clinical decisions are based on scientific knowledge and established clinical skills
- No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested for the duration of the contract
