Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in Lima, OH, requiring post-operative open heart care experience and advanced cardiac monitoring proficiency.

Details

  • Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13-week contract
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating to all units within skill level is required

Requirements

  • Active OH or Compact RN license (verified active via Nursys)
  • Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Post-operative open heart care experience required
  • Critical care experience highly preferred
  • Chest tube and other drain management experience required
  • Experience with pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access required
  • Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading and interpreting rhythm strips and recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms required
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities required
  • Experience assisting with chest tube removal, pericardial pacing wire removal, temporary pacer management (pericardial and transcutaneous), and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) devices required
  • Experience with high-flow oxygen and other oxygen delivery systems required
  • Current Telemetry skills checklist (within the past year) required for consideration

Additional Information

  • The RN assumes full responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria
  • Assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries
  • Clinical decisions are based on scientific knowledge and established clinical skills
  • No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested for the duration of the contract
