Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Three weekends in each six-week block
  • Every other holiday
  • Guaranteed 36 hours weekly; 48 available upon request
  • 13-week assignment, starting 5/18

Qualifications:

  • Active compact RN license (must be submitted with application)
  • AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience, including 1 year ortho/neuro/trauma and at least one previous travel contract
  • Trauma level II experience required
  • Recent hands-on expertise with EPIC charting
  • Ability to float within skillset (to campuses 8–11 miles away, with advance notice)
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills; resiliency and adaptability are musts

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to trauma, ortho, and neuro patient populations (including fracture, post-op, and spinal cases)
  • Perform advanced neuro assessments and assistive device application (braces, immobilizers)
  • Interpret Tele/12-lead EKGs, insert peripheral IVs
  • Preferred: manage chest tubes/drains, IV drips, complex wound care, epidural, traction, and PEG/NG tubes
  • Occasionally precept students and newly hired staff
  • Document accurately and efficiently using EPIC
