Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Three weekends in each six-week block
- Every other holiday
- Guaranteed 36 hours weekly; 48 available upon request
- 13-week assignment, starting 5/18
Qualifications:
- Active compact RN license (must be submitted with application)
- AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience, including 1 year ortho/neuro/trauma and at least one previous travel contract
- Trauma level II experience required
- Recent hands-on expertise with EPIC charting
- Ability to float within skillset (to campuses 8–11 miles away, with advance notice)
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills; resiliency and adaptability are musts
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to trauma, ortho, and neuro patient populations (including fracture, post-op, and spinal cases)
- Perform advanced neuro assessments and assistive device application (braces, immobilizers)
- Interpret Tele/12-lead EKGs, insert peripheral IVs
- Preferred: manage chest tubes/drains, IV drips, complex wound care, epidural, traction, and PEG/NG tubes
- Occasionally precept students and newly hired staff
- Document accurately and efficiently using EPIC
