This opportunity seeks a Special Education Teacher to provide dedicated support within a structured school environment in Oakland, CA. Serving students in a transitional kindergarten program for middle school, this contract role requires an onsite presence with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours. The assignment is current through June 11, 2026, with the potential for a non-school year (NSY) extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of special education students.
- Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) according to state and district standards.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive learning environments.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies to optimize outcomes.
- Maintain clear communication with families and guardians regarding student development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential.
- California Teaching Credential (CTC) required.
- Experience working with special education populations, particularly transitional kindergarten cohorts, is preferred.
- Ability to work onsite full time; virtual support is not considered for this position.
