Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for smoothing, leveling, and finishing freshly poured concrete surfaces such as floors, roads, sidewalks, and curbs. You will work closely with other team members to ensure that concrete projects are completed efficiently and meet the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set forms to the desired pitch, depth, and proper alignment.
- Pour, level, and smooth concrete using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of the concrete.
- Monitor the effects of weather on concrete curing and make adjustments as necessary.
- Ensure that finished surfaces meet specifications for smoothness, levelness, and texture.
- Cut joints into concrete slabs to control cracking.
- Repair damaged or old concrete surfaces.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working order.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean worksite.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or in a similar role.
- Proficient with tools such as trowels, screeds, floats, and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical plans.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding role.
- Knowledge of concrete mixing, curing, and finishing techniques.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with decorative concrete, stamping, or acid staining.
- Familiarity with concrete pump operation.
- Certifications in concrete finishing or construction safety (OSHA 10 or OSHA 30).
