Job Description:
The GIS Analyst will support the development, modeling, and maintenance of geospatial data for utility infrastructure and engineering projects. This position will contribute to GIS analysis, data standardization, and the preparation of spatial deliverables for client-facing platforms. The Analyst will regularly communicate project status to internal teams and external stakeholders, as customer service is a key component of the role. The GIS Analyst will work closely within functional teams to deliver high-quality GIS services, with a strong emphasis on data modeling, utility network readiness, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, prepare, and interpret land-related documents including easements, permits, licenses, and infrastructure records
- Assist in the development and conversion of GIS datasets for utility assets including gas, telecom, fuel, steam, and high-voltage systems
- Support schema standardization and data migration efforts for regional and enterprise GIS systems
- Utilize ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online to create, edit, and manage spatial data and metadata
- Conduct geoprocessing tasks such as field mapping, attribute inspection, and geometry validation
- Assist in the creation of 3D GIS files and Obstruction Identification Surfaces (OIS) for aviation and safety zone modeling
- Perform spatial analysis and coordinate system transformations to ensure data accuracy and alignment
- Georeference raster and vector datasets to support infrastructure mapping
- Maintain organized records of source documents, metadata, and version history
- Collaborate with field teams and engineers to validate asset locations and update GIS layers
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Comply with all company policies, data standards, and project deadlines
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; Associate degree or High School Diploma/GED required
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online (AGOL), and enterprise geodatabases
- Familiarity with utility network data modeling and readiness assessment
- Proficiency in geoprocessing tools, field mapping, and dashboard creation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with Python, R, or other scripting/statistical tools is a plus
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification is a plus
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required
