AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client seeking a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) to provide high-quality orthotic and prosthetic care within a patient-focused clinical environment. This role involves evaluating patients, designing and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to support improved mobility and functional outcomes.
The ideal candidate is experienced in patient assessment, device design, fitting, and follow-up care while maintaining a strong commitment to clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ physical conditions and mobility needs to determine appropriate prosthetic and orthotic solutions
- Design, measure, fabricate, and fit prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices
- Perform device adjustments and modifications to ensure optimal fit, comfort, and functionality
- Educate patients and caregivers on device use, care, and mobility strategies
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records in accordance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and rehabilitation teams to support patient care plans
- Conduct follow-up appointments to monitor patient progress and device performance
- Stay current with advancements in prosthetic and orthotic technology and clinical practices
Requirements
- Certification as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) through the American Board for Certification (ABC) or equivalent credential
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics or a related field
- Experience evaluating, fitting, and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices
- Strong understanding of biomechanics, gait analysis, and rehabilitation principles
- Ability to interpret medical prescriptions and clinical documentation
- Excellent patient communication and education skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to clinical quality
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in outpatient prosthetics and orthotics clinics
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM prosthetic or orthotic design systems
- Experience treating a wide range of patient populations including pediatric and geriatric patients
- Knowledge of insurance documentation and reimbursement processes related to orthotic and prosthetic services
