Job DescriptionJob Title: Medical Assembler

Job Description

This role, known as Pilot Operator, involves working at the Research and Development facility to perform prototype assemblies and assist in building new product lines. You will collaborate directly with engineers and technicians to enhance product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Start in the packaging and testing area to gain exposure to various parts and processes.
  • Operate a vertical reflow machine for coating/laminating parts.
  • Cross-train in different areas including assembly, operating, grinding, and lab.
  • Conduct prototyping and testing using hand tools like tweezers, pliers, and screwdrivers.
  • Learn to solder with flux and perform light welding.
  • Utilize microscopes heavily for inspection and assembly.
  • Run and operate flattener and semi-automated reflow machines.
  • Set up and operate small injection mold presses.
  • Work directly with engineers and technicians to improve processes and troubleshoot issues.
  • Use grinding machines to finish parts and use computers for documentation.
  • Perform welding and inspections in the lab using microscopes, vision systems, and measurement equipment.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in microscope assembly.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools such as rulers, laser micrometers, and multimeters.
  • Experience building catheters, leads, and guidewires.
  • Experience with laser welding and working within an R&D environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to multitask.

Work Environment

The work environment is a new facility built within the last five years. Employees will operate both inside and outside of the cleanroom, and occasionally in the lab area. The team comprises around 10-15 individuals, including management, leads, assemblers, engineers, and technicians. The facility is well-lit, open, and temperature-controlled, with no requirement for hearing protection. It is strictly an R&D site focused on building and improving initial product lines for manufacturing.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.25 - $22.25/hr.
