Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A visually impaired teacher is needed to support students within the Aurora Public Schools district located in the Denver area, with assignments possibly situated in Englewood, CO. This contract position is for the 2026-2027 school year, beginning in early August and concluding in late May, with hours per week to be determined based on district needs.
Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction and support for visually impaired students across various schools. Caseloads and age groups may vary by assignment, and the position could be full-time or part-time depending on final determination and staffing needs, as existing employees retire or adjust schedules.
Qualified candidates will hold an active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certification in teaching students with visual impairments. Candidates must also complete required district background checks and fingerprinting prior to placement. Although campus assignments have not been finalized, this role delivers direct instructional services to students requiring visual impairment support within the district.
Desired qualifications and experience levels:
- Entry-level with 02 years experience or experienced teachers with up to 10+ years in visually impaired education.
- Strong communication and individualized education planning skills.
- Ability to collaborate with district staff, families, and related service providers.
Location: Englewood, CO (Denver metropolitan area) onsite position only.
