Position Overview
Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Claims Administrator is responsible for obtain information from the insured or other interested persons for the purposes of setting up, investigating and settling claims. The Claims Administrator is responsible for various functions to support other operational activities.
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, in-office/in-person position at our Oklahoma City office location. This is not a remote position.
Local candidates preferred, no relocation assistance is provided
Position Purpose
The Claims Administrator works closely with insurance brokers, agents, company staff, inspectors and independent adjusters (IA) to process the administrative duties of issuing new or renewal insurance policies as well as claims. The Claims Administrator will review insurance policies submitted by policy holder, in order to determine coverage. In addition, the Claims Administrator will prepare claim related forms and documents, review them for accuracy and completeness, and transmit them for further investigation or payment.
Responsibilities
- Generate reports for agents and management on an as needed basis
- Receive and set up claims via phone calls/emails/correspondence
- Prepare work to be processed by gathering, sorting, organizing, reviewing, and recording data, information, and documents in electronic company claim files
- Validate and verify that policyholder information is current and correct
- Issue payments and adjust reserves when directed by Claims Manager or Claims Adjuster
- Review IA reports for payment processing Process towing and glass claims
- Arrange for rental vehicles when needed
- Communicate with insureds, agents and claimants on claims status or changes. Process and submit required government forms
- Review and maintain company W9 vendor file
- Support the claims team with miscellaneous functions
- Company CAT support as needed
- Provide excellent customer service in accordance with company guidelines
- Build strong relationships with policyholders, agents, repairers, inspectors, and IAs
Knowledge and Skills
The Claims Administrator will have the ability to produce quality results within tight timeframes. They will have experience in claims with property and casualty experience. The Claims Administrator will be networked with other claims professionals and remain current with industry trends and changes. This individual is a critical thinker with high standards, sound technical skills, analytical ability, excellent judgment, and strong operational focus. The Claims Administrator will possess excellent communication skills, strong computer abilities, as well as the ability to multi-task. This individual should be the ultimate team player.
Education and/or Experience
- An associate degree and three (3) years related property/casualty insurance experience, OR
- A bachelors degree in a Business degree or related field, OR
- Any appropriate combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
