Job Summary:

This position reports to the Inventory Supervisor. The Materials Specialist is responsible for supporting shipping and production through inventory management. The Materials Specialist will execute several inventory related functions including putaways, restocking and cycle counting.

Essential functions of this role include:

1. Utilize SAP software to properly transact materials throughout the warehouse and distribution center.
2. Put away received materials in the warehouse or production floor bins.
3. Participate in monthly cycle counts and assist in reconciliation of variances.
4. Ensure that all applicable processes and procedures are followed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Must have outstanding attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
2. Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills are required.
3. Thorough understanding of order processing and ability to maintain accurate inventory control during all phases of activity.
4. Ability to read/understand complex documentation when required for handling non-conforming material.
5. Ability to identify and communicate opportunities to maximize production efficiency, ensure process control and suggest product/process improvements.
6. Must be available to participate in monthly cycle count events.

Minimum education and work experience required:

1. 3- 5 years’ experience in warehousing or another inventory related role preferred
2. Degree in supply chain related field preferred but not required
