About the Job:
Title of the Position: Lab Technician
As a Lab Technician at Nivagen you will be responsible for supporting the laboratory operations by conducting routine tests, preparing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory standards. The technician will work closely with chemists, scientists, and other technical staff to ensure the smooth and accurate testing of pharmaceutical products.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze assigned samples using various instruments, primarily HPLC.
- Maintain laboratory logbooks and usage/consumption logs.
- Clean and maintain all laboratory areas.
- Adhere to and comply with cGLP and cGMP standards.
- Operate laboratory instruments as per SOPs.
- Management of chemicals, reagents, standards, HPLC columns, etc.
- Contact service engineer when necessary to calibrate laboratory instruments.
- Handle the disposal of chemicals and samples
- Prepare and review SOPs.
- Prepare and review COAs.
- Prepare other documents related to analytical activities, including protocols, templates, reports, specifications, and STPs.
- Develop analytical methods under the guidance of supervisor.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO).
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with standard laboratory equipment, such as pipettes, graduated cylinders, and balances.
- Experience with laboratory techniques related to measuring, weighing, and handling of samples.
- Experience with HPLC is highly desired.
- Familiarity with handling chemicals, especially the safety precautions and documents (SDS) related to such.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of chemistry and pharmaceuticals, as well as the terms and concepts related to such.
- Knowledge, familiarity, or experience with cGMP is desired.
Requirements:
- Must live or willing to move to Sacramento Metropolitan Region (Approx. 40 miles' radius)
