McKing is currently recruiting a full-time Public Health Analyst (Policy and Communications) to work onsite supporting the Policy and Partnerships Team within the Office Policy, Partnerships, and Communication (OPPC), in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity Prevention (DNPAO).
Overview:
The CDC’s DNPAO works to protect the health of Americans during every stage of life, with a focus on promoting health equity among groups experiencing more risk factors for chronic disease. This is done by supporting evidence-based strategies to increase physical activity, good nutrition and healthy weight. DNPAO focuses on supporting breastfeeding, promoting a healthy childhood, improving nutrition, increasing physical activity, and preventing and reducing obesity.
Activities:
- Assists with forecasting, tracking, and reporting key activities using existing systems.
- Assists with issues management coordination, response development, and real time tracking of deliverables with urgent deadlines.
- Support management of team information on SharePoint and MS Teams.
- Support preparing responses to inquiries from diverse internal and external audiences, including working with subject matter experts and DNPAO leadership to provide timely responses to a variety of requests.
- Assists in developing PowerPoint slides and facts sheets.
- Assists with writing issue briefs on key topics and initiatives supported by DNPAO.
- Assists with translating scientific information into plain language.
Qualifications:

- experience developing materials independently for diverse audiences that articulate key messages (e.g., producing high profile documents for leadership)

- experience with management information systems (e.g., SharePoint)
- experience working on projects that require attention to detail.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree
- Project management experience preferred, but not required
- Past experience with CDC preferred, but not required
